The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Soldiers Group

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, demons, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the city.

Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.

Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The antagonist then settled his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the northern region, above the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Individual Reasons

Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:

  • The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants vengeance.
  • The adventurer is familiar with the region and warns that it is a dangerous place.
  • The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • However, their position as key figures in the influential clan could assist the group access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Moreover, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This means them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.

What’s Next?

Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Explorers and Schemers tables.

Fans can look forward to learning which characters will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, streaming live on next week.
